Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation
Digitalisation is a ubiquitous trend, shaping all facets of our modern lifestyle. The Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt) seeks to improve our understanding of the opportunities and challenges that accompany digital transformation. Its aim is to give society the tools and insights it needs to shape a digital future underpinned by a sense of responsibility and advocacy for the common good.
Understanding the digital transformation
The bidt promotes interdisciplinary networking opportunities and international visibility for digitalisation research in Bavaria. It supports external research projects and conducts projects of its own in the following three areas in particular: “Government, Regulation and Infrastructure”, “Communication, Society and Participation” and “Economy and Labour”. The bidt’s role as a think tank makes it an important source of up-to-date information for decision-makers, providing them with access to evidence-based insights through its data and analyses. The institute fosters a culture of open dialogue between the research community and society.
