DESCRIPTION:Non-communicable inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis o
 r atopic eczema are a major challenge of modern medicine. They are relevant
  because they are prevalent, severely affect the quality of life of patient
 s and have a major socio-economic impact. They are challenging because thei
 r complex pathogenesis is based on the interaction of genetical predisposit
 ion, environmental influences, and an altered immune system. In this worksh
 op, we will elaborate the pathogenesis mosaic of non-communicable inflammat
 ory skin diseases, and finally try and puzzle the pieces together with an i
 ndex case – psoriasis.
